WHITE BLUFF, Tenn. A man was taken into custody early Friday morning after reportedly barricading himself inside a Dickson County home for 10 hours, according to WKRN News 2.

The Dickson County sheriff told News 2 the 26-year-old convicted felon held his grandparents hostage at a home in the 1100 block of Claylick Road.

A hang-up 911 call was made to Dickson County dispatch around 7 p.m. Thursday night. Officers were able to trace the call back to the residence.

Dickson police negotiated with the man for 10 hours, from around 8:30 p.m. Thursday to 6:40 a.m. Friday morning.

The man eventually released his grandmother around 4:40 a.m., followed by his grandfather one hour later. They were uninjured.

Once the grandparents were released, authorities used tear gas in the home in an attempt to get the man to come out. They also shot rubber bullets at him once he was out of the house after he became uncooperative.

It is unknown what led the man to hold his parents hostage.

He will face charges of aggravated kidnapping.
