CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Clarksville Police Department is trying to identify a man believed to be involved in a credit card fraud case.
On July 20 at 2:42 p.m., the man entered the Gold & Diamonds store at 2801 Wilma Rudolph Blvd. and applied for a line of credit under the name William Carter, according to a press release from CPD Lt. Melissa Spielhagen. The line of credit was pre-approved, and he purchased a gold chain with a gold pendant attached, valued at $5,000.
Oct. 9, the line of credit was marked as fraudulent by the bank. The man in the photo did not match William Carter, the individual listed in the original report who has been cooperating with police.
Anyone who can identify the man or who has information is asked to please contact Officer Clarke at 931-648-0656, ext. 5825. To remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward, submit a tip online at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Crime Stoppers website or call the Tipsline, 931-645-8477.
