CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Clarksville Police Department has requested the public’s assistance with the investigation of a woman who falsely claimed to have cancer.
35-year-old Kristen Hines was accused of forging doctors’ signatures in order to collect donations for her fake cancer diagnosis.
She posted the forged documents on Facebook and a benefit was held for her at The Warehouse Bar and Grill.
Hines was charged with forgery after doctors who were contacted about donations alerted the police.
Anyone who donated money to Hines or participated in fundraisers for her benefit is asked to contact Detective Howard Gillespie at 931-648-0656 ext. 5234 or preferably by email at howard.gillespie@cityofclarksville.com.
