CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Clarksville Police Department (CPD) and Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) conducted a DUI checkpoint and saturation patrol April 7-8 from the hours of 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.
CPD said the purpose was to find and remove impaired drivers from the streets of Clarksville. The following are the results:

Speeding: 24
Improper Turns: 8
Insurance Law: 21
Traffic Signals/Signs: 1
Simple Possession: 5
Seat Belt: 2
Light/Equipment Violations: 31
Window Tint: 17
Other Driver License Law: 3
Helmet Law: 2
Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia: 5
Failure to Use Reasonable Care: 2
Registration: 14
Warrants: 1
Other Charges: 4
Total Vehicles Stopped: 97
Total Charges: 149
THP also had three DUI arrests during the checkpoint/saturation times.
