NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police believe a pothole contributed to a motorcycle crash Sunday on Briley Parkway that killed one man and seriously injured another.

WKRN News 2 reports that John LaSalle was traveling north on Briley Parkway when his 2013 Honda motorcycle hit a pothole and sideswiped a Honda Accord.

53-year-old Phillip Myatt was riding his Harley Davidson behind LaSalle when the crash occurred and had to lay down his bike to avoid a collision. He was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center for treatment.

No one was injured in the Accord. Police said drugs and alcohol were not factors.
