CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – According to a news release from the Clarksville Police Department, on August 18 CPD launched an investigation at the request of the Clarksville Montgomery County School System involving the Northeast High School Football Team.

The head football coach and several assistants were not at Saturday’s game, according to CMCSS spokesperson Elise Shelton.

Police said the investigation failed to produce sufficient evidence for criminal charges.

“At no time was a member of the coaching staff a focus of the investigation,” CPD spokesperson Sgt. Charles Gill said.

The investigation did uncover inappropriate activities by student athletes, according to a news release. This information was turned over to the school system for further internal investigation.

No names will be released regarding the criminal investigation because the individuals are minors.
