Update, 9:50 p.m.: A man who barricaded himself on Cranklen Circle killed himself Saturday night in Clarksville.
At about 1:34 p.m., Kantrell Head, 30, was involved in a domestic incident on Scott Drive and took a toddler with him, according to Sgt. Gill.
Head barricaded himself on Cranklen Circle, but police were able to get the toddler to safety.
After lengthy negotiations, he died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, Gill said at about 9:45 p.m.
The Homicide Unit has started an investigation, and the scene is being processed. No officers were injured.
Area residents can now return to their homes.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Clarksville Police are negotiating with a barricated person on Cranklen Circle.
The incident started about 3 p.m., according to Sgt. Charles Gill.
“This situation is isolated to one residence, but we ask public to remain in their homes if possible, and the road will be closed until this
situation can be resolved,” Gill said.
Cranklen is off Jack Miller Boulevard in north Clarksville.
