CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENNOW) – A Clarksville man has been arrested after allegedly hitting his friend with his vehicle and driving through a fence.

An arrest warrant says the victim saw a car pull into his driveway on his security camera on May 4 and went outside to see who it was. He noticed his friend, Richard B. Shelley, sitting in his car.

When the victim asked Shelley what he was doing, Shelley reportedly backed out of the driveway, stopped at the road, then put the vehicle in drive and hit the man.

The victim landed on the hood of the car and Shelley continued to drive through a wooden fence with the man trapped on the hood.

The man said he jumped off the vehicle and ran away as Shelley sped off.

Police said the victim has several cuts on his body but refused medical treatment.

Shelley was located by police and charged with aggravated assault and vandalism. His bond was set at $25,000.
