Police look for public assistance with homicide investigation

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Clarksville Police are investigating a homicide which occurred Sunday evening, July 21.

Investigations are underway near the 1300 block of Givens Lane in Clarksville.

Officers responded to a shooting already occurred Sunday evening around 9:00 p.m. When they arrived on scene, officers found Joshua R. Ellis, 32, had been shot.

Ellis was taken by Life Flight to a Nashville area hospital. He passed away Monday morning.

There is very little information at this time.

Neighbors reported hearing what sounded like fireworks around the time of the shooting.
