CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Clarksville Police Department (CPD) is investigating a recent wave of vandalism at Greenwood Cemetery.
According to Officer Natalie Hall, an unknown suspect(s) entered the property at 984 Greenwood Ave. between Nov. 30 and Dec. 2. A granite tablet weighing more than 5,000 pounds was knocked off the top of a large mausoleum. The estimated cost of damages is $30,000.
Police say this is not the first recent occurrence of vandalism at Greenwood Cemetery. On another occasion, several headstones were pushed over during the nighttime hours.
