CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Clarksville Police Department is investigating numerous scams involving RedFlex Red light Ticket scam.

An unidentified man has been contacting the public and posing as a Sergeant with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

The man tells the victims they have a Red Flex Ticket and that a judge with Montgomery County General Sessions Court has suspended their driver license and issued a bench warrant for their arrest.

The scammer tells the victims in order to avoid the penalty they must send a $996 money order.

The Montgomery County Sheriff Office has no association with Red Flex, and Red Flex will never contact the public by phone. These fines are considered civil, and therefore a citizen is not subject to jail time or losing their license. The fine is only $50.

Anyone who is contacted by this man is advised not to send a money order. Victims can contact the Clarksville Police Department at 931-648-0656.

Anyone with information related to this crime can call Crime Stoppers at 931-645-TIPS (8477).
