CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Police have identified the woman killed over the weekend at a home on Tiny Town Road.
At about 8:33 p.m. Saturday, Clarksville Police responded to an ambulance call in the 900 block of Tiny Town Road, according to spokesman Officer Scott Beaubien. Inside the residence was a deceased female, and the incident has been determined to be a homicide.
The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Pfc. Katia Duenas-Aguilar of Mesquite Texas. She was a soldier stationed at Fort Campbell and a member of 101st Combat Aviation Brigade.
“We are stunned by the death of Pfc. Duenas-Aguilar,” said Lt. Col. Tony Hoefler, spokesperson for the 101st Airborne Division and Fort Campbell. “In the meantime, we will continue to cooperate with Army and local investigative authorities on this matter.”
Duenas-Aguilar entered the active-duty Army as an information technology specialist in 2018, according to a news release. She completed basic combat training and advanced individual training at Fort Eisenhower (previously Fort Gordon), Georgia, before reporting to Fort Campbell in 2019. Pfc. Duenas-Aguilar’s awards and commendations included two Army Achievement Medals, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Army Service Ribbon.
“This is still an active and ongoing investigation, no other information is available for release at this time,” Beaubien said.
