CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A Clarksville woman has been arrested after allegedly hiding in a local business after closing and attempting to steal merchandise.
According to Clarksville police, officers responded to an alarm call at a business in the 2800 block of Wilma Rudolph Blvd. April 3 around 11:12 p.m.
A manager arrived to unlock the store and police found Jessica Brown of Clarksville inside the building. Officers also found a a bag containing items with anti-theft devices removed, as well as a pair of pliers.
Police believe Brown stayed inside the business after it had closed and tried to steal $2,700 worth of merchandise from the store.
She was charged with burglary and possession of tools to interfere with anti-theft security devices.
