CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – An Oak Grove man has been arrested for allegedly beating a victim with a baseball bat and burglarizing his home in Clarksville.

Police reported that on Aug. 25, 27-year-old Jesse Ray Lyle allegedly assaulted the victim with a metal baseball bat at the victim’s residence on Bobcat Dr.

The victim told police that he saw his porch light come on and when he went out to investigate, he was assaulted. He said he heard Lyle accuse him of having relations with his girlfriend.

An arrest warrant says that when officers arrived on scene, they saw that the victim had several gashes on his scalp and bruising in his midsection.

Lyle is accused of not only beating the victim, but also stealing a 60-inch TV and a cell phone from his home.

Police issued a statement in August asking the public to help locate Lyle, who was arrested Tuesday.

He was charged with aggravated assault, aggravated burglary, and several drug and traffic-related charges. His bond was set at $315,000.

Lyle’s arrest warrant mentioned a second unnamed suspect, but did not provide further information.
