CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Clarksville Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect who stole a vehicle from an elderly man at a local gas station.
On March 16, at approximately 9:20 a.m., the victim, a 78-year-old man, pulled into the Quick Pump gas station at 411 Dover Road. The victim left his vehicle running when he went inside the business to make a quick purchase.
According to CPD spokesman, Scott Beaubien, a white male was walking down Dover Road towards Clarksville and observed the elderly gentleman get out of his vehicle. Knowing this was a crime of opportunity, the white male walked up to the vehicle, jumped in and drove away, heading towards downtown Clarksville.
The suspect was seen on video surveillance cameras and detectives are asking for the public’s assistance identifying him.
CPD would like to remind the public to “park smart.”
- Lock your vehicle.
- Secure your valuable (including firearms).
- Take your keys/key fob with you.
- Don’t leave your vehicle running and unattended.
