CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW)- Clarksville Police have charged a second person in the shooting on Peachers Mill Road Monday morning.
Police responded to a shooting in progress around 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28. When officers arrived, they found a man and woman outside of a home in the 900 block of Peachers Mill who had sustained gunshot wounds.
Officers were given a description of a Ford Taurus which fled the scene of the shooting. Officers flooded the area and the vehicle was quickly located in the front yard of a Leigh Court residence, according to a news release from Jim Knoll, spokesman for Clarksville Police Department.
The man driving the Ford Taurus, Benjamin Richardson, 26, has been charged with felon in possession of a firearm. Richardson was released from the hospital and taken to the Montgomery County Jail to be charged.
Richardson had active warrants on file for violation of Community Corrections, evading arrest, driving on a suspended/revoke license, window tint, improper passing.
His bond was set at $62,500.
Freddrick Bates, 39, has been charged with felon in possession of a firearm. He was booked into the Montgomery County Jail also after being discharged from the hospital, around 7 p.m. Tuesday evening. His bond was set at $50,000.
The investigation is ongoing with more charges expected.
