CLARKSVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A suspicious activity call around 10 a.m. on August 15 lead to the arrest of a man suspected of robbing two businesses that same morning.

The two businesses in question were located in the 2600 block of Trenton Road and the 2600 block of Wilma Rudolph Boulevard with the robberies taking place around 12:30 a.m. and 3 a.m. respectively. In both cases, the suspect entered the business wearing dark clothing with face covered and a handgun displayed. He took an undisclosed amount of money, along with several packs of Newport cigarettes, and fled the scene in a silver vehicle.

Around 10 a.m, police were called concerning suspicious activity at 2740 Trenton Road in which a man was trying to open doors to a residence before claiming it was the wrong apartment. When officers arrived, Marcus Parker attempted to flee.

Parker had in his possession a gun matching the description of the one used in the robberies. A silver vehicle was located nearby containing clothes matching the description as well as other evidence linking Parker to the robberies.

Parker had also left a dog in the silver vehicle unattended with no source of cooling or water. Officers rescued the panting dog from the hot vehicle and provided for its well-being. The dog has been released to Animal Care and Control for safekeeping.

 

Marcus Parker, 27, was charged with aggravated robber x2, unlawful carrying or possession of a weapon, theft of property and evading arrest. His bond is set at $220,000.
