CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Students, parents, faculty, and staff at Pisgah Elementary School recently collected food for animal shelters during the Pisgah Loves Pets food drive.
According to a Facebook post from the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS), 2,069 pounds of food were donated to local animal shelters.
As part of the food drive, a daily pet guest star appeared on the morning television announcements shown in each classroom. The first day was kicked off by Montgomery Co. Sheriff’s Deputy Eric Trout and his K-9 Fuse.
Two other special guests included a registered therapy dog named Sprocket and his owner Judy Gatewood-Keim.
“Animals help teach us to be loving and kind, and just enjoy playing!” Gatewood-Keim said.
