CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Clarksville Fire Rescue received something very special Friday from Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, Eta Tau Chapter, at Austin Peay State University. The “Pikes” presented a check for $6,362 to Firefighters at the Main Fire Station on Main St.
Clarksville Fire Rescue Deputy Chief, Ray Williams, talked about the donation. It’s a very nice thing to help us out. We appreciate what these guys have done for us. They are really pillars of the community and we just want to thank these guys,” said Williams.
Randy Ellis, Assistant Chief, said the fraternity also bought and donated needed firefighting equipment like fire extinguishers, axes and nozzles. “Two years ago when this started they chose the department as their philanthropy and raised money by doing a Fireman’s Challenge event on campus,” Ellis said.

“We did a Fireman’s Challenge which is kind of like the mock course they would go through in order to be a firefighter. We did the same thing so we had fraternity men and sorority women participate. They would donate money to go through the course,” said David Locke, Pi Kappa Alpha President.
