CLARKSVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – City Councilwoman Wanda Smith held an informative meeting at Lettie Kendall Community Center on Thursday, August 22. Citizens came out to hear from, and ask questions of, a panel of city officials.

Among those in attendance were Clarksville’s mayor, Joe Pitts, Chief of Police Al Ansley, CMCSS Director Millard House II, Fire Chief Freddie Montgomery, TN 67 Representative Jason Hodges, Gas & Water GM Mark Riggins, Director of CHCD Keith Lampkin, GM of CDE/Lightband Brian Taylor, Parks and Recreation Director Jennifer Letourneau, Director of building and codes David Smith as well as pastors Dr Anderson Grant and James Trotter.

Topics discussed included Gas & Water projects, traffic camera practices, and the state of Clarksville’s bus stops. The event included giveaways and multiple vendors. The Clarksville-Montgomery County Regional Planning Commission had a table set up to discuss the upcoming census with concerned citizens.

During the event Q&A, presidents of multiple Clarksville motorcycle clubs invited the community to ask them questions. The decision was made in light of recent violent incidents in Clarksville involving bikers. The Biker Set wanted to reassure members of the community of their good intentions and to share upcoming charity events they are organizing.
