CLARKSVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Wags & Wings Family Fun and Oktoberfest returned to Clarksville Regional Airport September 28-29 to usher in the fall season while raising money for the Clarksville-Montgomery County Humane Society.
Guests enjoyed a wide array of games and activities, helicopter rides, a car show and many local vendors.
Representatives of the Humane Society were on site along with several dogs looking for new homes. Nearby, members of the Queen City Runners Flyball Group hosted a live sport demonstration
“The Spirit of Freedom,” a C-54 plane that was flown in the historic Berlin Airlift and is now a flying museum, made a special visit to the airport. The crew gave tours of the plane and shared its history with guests.
Visitors enjoyed traditional German fare, such as bratwurst, schnitzel, pretzels and plenty of beer, provided by Nashville’s Bavarian Bierhaus.
At noon on Sunday, a traditional keg tapping ceremony was held, with Clarksville-Montgomery County Airport Authority Chairman Sammy Stuard tapping the keg, and guests enjoyed free beer.
