Sarah Shepard, owner of Burdoc Farms, spoke with Nick and Bailey in the Morning about the damage to her property.

“It twisted the big 6×9 poles that hold up that barn. Just twisted it like it was nothing,” she said. “We had pieces of the barn out in the field sticking up out of the ground.”

Shepard hosts weddings and other events on the property. She said she and her husband were home at the time when they saw hail and noticed the lights flickering as the storm blew in.

After the storm passed, Shepard and her husband received a call in the morning from their insurance agent, who said the barn was gone. Pieces of the roof were lodged in the tops of the trees on the property.

“You just don’t know what to say. You don’t know whether to cry, or yell, or what,” she said.
