CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Eight churches and many volunteers were very busy Tuesday for the 12th Annual Empty Bowls Clarksville. Three local churches served lunch and five offered a dinner of soup, bread, dessert and a drink along with a unique hand-painted bowl.
The bowls are intended as a reminder that there are empty bowls in the community, and everyone can do something to help feed a hungry neighbor.
The fundraising event this year supported the efforts of Loaves & Fishes, Urban Ministries and The Food Initiative. The three organizations provide thousands of meals and foo every year to struggling families and individuals who are in need.
