CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Tennessee’s First Lady, Maria Lee, was in Clarksville Tuesday visiting with veterans at the Tennessee State Veterans’ Home on Arrowood Drive. Lee said the visit was part of her initiative launched last May called Tennessee Serves. Each month Tennessee Serves will do a monthly service challenge.

“For the month of November we are focusing on veterans so we came up here to Clarksville to meet some of our wonderful heroes here at the veterans home,” Lee said.

Lee added that she was impressed by the way it is so thoughtfully laid out. The design allows residents the ability to get to and from easily as well as in and out of their home. The First Lady said everyone she met said they were happy and very grateful to be at the veterans home.

Lee was joined on her tour of the facility by State Senator Bill Powers.
