CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) On a day of almost record breaking heat, around 170 runners and walkers took to the streets of downtown Clarksville Saturday for the third annual Run for C.O.P.S. (Concerns of Police Survivors).
The event is a fundraiser for the C.O.P.S. organization to benefit the families of law enforcement personnel killed in the line of duty. The 5K run/walk was held as part of National Police Week May 13-19 which recognizes and honors fallen law enforcement officers.
Clarksville Police Department Captain Scott Thornton, organizer of the event, thanked all of the law enforcement officers, the military community and citizens of Clarksville who participated which raised thousands of dollars for C.O.P.S.
