CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Close to 200 people gathered at the steps of the historic Montgomery County Courthouse on the Fourth of July for the annual reading of the Declaration of Independence. Volunteers in Revolutionary War uniforms were on-hand to present the colors and they were joined by historians and others in period clothing and costumes.
It was the seventh year of the event and organizer David Brockman talked about Independence Day. “Independence Day is a great time to remember how our country was started, and the principles it was founded on, so we recognize and remember that,” said Brockman.
