CLARKSVILLE, Tenn (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The District Attorney’s Office hosted the 22nd annual “On Wings of Love” Remembering Our Homicide Victims ceremony at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Library on Wednesday, December 4.
The annual event is held to honor those who have lost their lives by violence and homicide. The family and friends of homicide victims honor their loved ones with handmade ornaments, hung from a tree in the library.
Many of those in attendance shared memories of their loved ones and expressed the importance of unity in overcoming grief.
The guest speaker at this year’s event was Cathy Blakely, the victim service coordinator for the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Blakely shared a message of recovery and encouragement with the crowd, stressing the importance of honoring loved ones lost to violence.
