CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Manna Café Ministries resumed their regular food distribution Monday from their new Manna Village location at 605 Providence Blvd. Manna Café Administrator, Sara Miller, said they served close to 200 families with food boxes.
Food will be distributed Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the new site. The organization recently relocated from their location on Franklin St. “We’re excited to be in this part of town. We’re more visible here and people can find us a little bit easier,” Miller said.
Miller talked about one of the first rooms that Kenny York, the founder of Manna Café, put together at the new location which is called the Prayer Room. The room allows for more spiritual ministry and is a place for staff and volunteers to come in for prayer
Future plans include converting one of the buildings into a Community Refuge Center, which will feature office space, meeting rooms and a kitchen for preparing hot meals. It will also provide space for partnerships with other agencies who help those in need in the community. The second floor of the main building will also be utilized in the future.
According to Miller, one of Manna Café’s greatest needs is for more volunteers. “We have volunteer opportunities six days a week and right now we are looking for volunteers for the afternoons on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.”
Volunteers will also be needed for Manna Café’s Combat Hunger with 5 Star Media Group, set for Saturday, November 9 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., at various locations throughout Clarksville-Montgomery County.
