CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – There was a lot of excitement at the New Providence Pool on Cunningham Lane this Saturday, as triathletes were cheered on by their families while they ran, swam and rode their way through the course. This annual event hosted by Clarksville Parks and Recreation had over 140 kids participate.
Children ages 3-12 competed in a series of activities that varied by age group, with the younger triathletes getting a shorter course than their older counterparts. Volunteers helped Parks & Recreation staff to make sure everything ran smoothly, such as checking in participants and handing out water at different parts of the course.
All participants were awarded a medal for their hard work and preparation for the event. Parents and family members proudly took pictures and celebrated at the end of the course. Children of all athletic abilities were able to participate, including those with disabilities that may have otherwise prevented them from participating in an event like this.
