CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Loaves & Fishes held their Capital Campaign Kick-Off Saturday night and announced they have already raised over $900,000 toward their initial goal of $1.5 million for a new facility to offer more services to the community.
Even before Saturday’s gathering, the nonprofit organization had received a number of generous donations to help them continue their work to feed those who are hungry in Clarksville-Montgomery County as well as expanding their services for other organizations.
Close to 300 supporters turned out for the fundraising event which included dinner and a play, The Dining Room and featured guest speaker Pastor Mike Burnette from LifePoint Church. Loaves & Fishes Board Chairman, Tamara Long talked about the support from the community for their “New Move-New Vision” campaign.
“The outpouring is wonderful, people are just excited about it, a change in the mission for Loaves & Fishes and expansion. It shows the generosity of the community and their belief in what Loaves & Fishes has done and what it’s going to do in the future,” Long said.
