CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Kenwood Middle School hosted its 100 Men Event on the first full day of the new school year Wednesday.
The group of around 100 men was made up of local elected officials, law enforcement, businessmen, civic groups and community leaders.
The group met the students with cheers of support, hand shakes and high fives as they were dropped off by their parents or got off the buses heading into the school.
Director of Clarksville-Montgomery County Schools, Millard House II, talked about the importance of the event.
“Young men are a huge commodity in this country that in many cases struggle when we look at the statistics. To know that we have over 100 men that are committed and ready to be here to welcome our young men and women back at Kenwood is huge,” House said.
