CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) Ice Cream lovers enjoyed over 40 flavors of delicious homemade ice cream at the 8th Annual I Scream for F.U.E.L., Ice Cream Freeze-Off Saturday at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Flavors ranged from Vanilla to Cantaloupe and other tasty choices in between.
The F.U.E.L. program provides non-perishable, easy to prepare food items for young children in Clarksville-Montgomery County Schools. Many children rely on school breakfast and lunch for their main meals each day. The food items supplied by F.U.E.L. help supplement them over the weekend.
The funds will be divided between Mt. Zion, Antioch, Marion and Salem United Methodist Churches along with Lone Oak, First Canaan and Memorial Baptist Churches to buy food for the F.U.E.L. program for children as they start off the school year.
Winning entries at the contest were 1st-Place Cecil Travis with Papa’s Peach, 2nd-Place Ted Elsner Cust & Nuts, and 3rd-Place Brenda Corlew for Cherry Almond Crunch. Winner of the Youth Division was Jaden Stowe with Watermelon and Honorable Mention went to Brenda and Phil Ross for Tutti-Frutti.
