CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLE) The classrooms, halls, and meeting rooms at Austin Peay’s Morgan University Center were filled with the Christmas spirit on Christmas Eve at the 11th Annual Warm Souls Christmas.
Each year the event brings together hundreds of homeless and financially struggling people along with hundreds of volunteers to share in the celebration of the holidays. Everything is free, including meals, clothing, shoes, household items, haircuts, family portraits, gifts for children, and much more.
Around 800 people attended this year, 750 meals were served, 180 received haircuts, 400 children under 12 got toys, and 300 pairs of shoes were given out along with all of the other offerings that were available for those in need.
Radical Mission Compassionate Ministries, dozens of businesses, as well as numerous churches and civic organizations step up each year to show their support for the event. Clarksville Transit System also contributed by offering free rides from any bus stop within the city limits to and from the university center.
