CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Downtown Clarksville was on a roll Saturday as over 200 bicyclists sped through the streets surrounding the Downtown Commons for the city’s first High Roller Criterium.

A Criterium, or crit as it’s called, is a bike race consisting of several laps around a closed circuit, the length of each lap or circuit ranging from about 500 to 1,000 meters.

In Clarksville’s case it was a four-corner course .8 miles in length. The event which drew bikers from all across the region featured 11 categories of races for men, women and juniors with race times ranging from 20 minutes to 60 minutes.

Other activities were going on supporting the racers and their families throughout the day at the center point of the High Roller Crit, the Downtown Commons. One event which proved to be a lot of fun was a Big Wheel-Tricycle Race around Downtown Commons involving local business relay teams.
