CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The “Gone Fishing” sign was hung out Saturday for the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency (TWRA) Youth Fishing Rodeo at Liberty Park Pond. Over 200 kids age 16 and under enjoyed a morning of catching some of the fish already in the pond and the more that 1,500 pounds of fish that had been stocked earlier in the week.
The Fishing Rodeo has taken place for over 16 years and is free to the public with no fishing license was required. Parents and family members were not allowed to catch the fish, but they could help the kids in baiting, casting and taking the fish off the hook.
Trophies were given out in each category for most weight of fish by a boy and girl and for biggest and smallest fish overall.
