CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Close to 1,000 runners and walkers took part in the 7th Annual Go Commando, hosted by the Clarksville Rotary Club Saturday at Old Glory Distilling Co. The event included a half-marathon, 5K, Kids Fun Run, and the Go Commando Shadow Run in which servicemen and women in Afghanistan ran simultaneously with the runners in Clarksville.

One of the highlights of Go Commando was Kalea Lehman who was running to break a Guiness World Record for the fastest half marathon while pushing a triple stroller. Lehman said her time was just over 1:51 which she said beat the current record she was tracking which was 1:54.

Lehman is a mother of four and her three youngest who rode along with her for the half marathon were Mia, Audrey, also known as Pippi, and Joshua. Lehman used her run as a way to raise funds and awareness for Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville. “We just wanted to use this race to do a Children’s Miracle Network fundraiser,” said Lehman.

The fundraiser will go on through Monday, October 23. As of race time Saturday morning, close to $1,800 had been donated. You can make a donation to Lehman’s campaign at childrensmiraclenetworkhospitals.org/campaign/?id=263.
