FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Family, friends, and comrades celebrated Monday evening at the Welcome Home Ceremony for 49 soldiers with the 1st Brigade Combat Team (BCT) of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), as they returned from their nine-month deployment to Iraq and Syria serving in Operation Inherent Resolve.
“It feels amazing to be home, I’ve missed my family so very much, it’s a Welcome Home Ceremony to remember,” said Major Corey Steiner. His thoughts were echoed by his wife Lena, “It’s overwhelming and it’s absolutely pure joy to have him back. It’s been a long nine months,” Steiner said.
