FORT CAMPBELL, KY. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and Fort Campbell celebrated Day of the Eagles Thursday on post. It’s a day of community events and ceremonies leading into Memorial Day. Traditionally it is a week of events, but with some units of the Screaming Eagles deployed or getting ready to deploy the focus was on an action-packed day of activities.

The day began early with a Division Run involving over 15,000 soldiers on a close to 4 mile run as family members and friends cheered them on. Among the other activities were unit open houses and static displays such as the one from the 1st Brigade Combat Team, Bastogne. Day of the Eagles will conclude with an Honor Eagle Ceremony to honor all veterans and former soldiers of the 101st Airborne Division for the Memorial Day weekend.
