ALTAMONT, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – If you’ve been hiking this summer, you might have noticed the influx of people at certain swimming locations that have waterfalls in Tennessee.  Greeter Falls is one of those locations that everyone tends to forget about. Located near Altamont, Tennessee, this spot is about 135 miles from Clarksville and has everything you would need for that summer hike with a refreshing swim.

The trail (1.8 miles round trip) is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and dog walking with a leash.  There are a few spots during the hike that are dangerous if you have young kids with you.  The lower and upper falls both have rocks where you can spread out a picnic, or just hang around in between dips in the water.

There are some people that cliff jump here, but NOT from the top of the falls.  There is a middle tier in the gorge to the left of the waterfall that you can walk on (reference our pictures so you can see where this location is) but jump at your own risk.
