CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Clarksville Academy hosted its Class of 2020 Commencement Exercises Wednesday as 71 graduates, the largest class ever to graduate from the school, received their diplomas.

The evening will always be remembered as exciting, as all graduations should be, but also very unique.  Originally planned for the the Cougar Sports Complex to follow the COVID-19 guidelines of social distancing, the ceremony was moved to the school’s gymnasium because of weather and water-soaked Simpson field.

School officials set up guidelines with graduates limited to the number of guests they could invite with guests spaced apart in the bleachers.  Graduates were also required to remain six feet apart at all times through the processional, ceremony seating, diploma presentation and recessional.
