CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Austin Peay State University Center Plaza turned into a G.H.O.S.T. town Sunday as hundreds of children along with their families covered the school’s campus dressed in their favorite Halloween costume in search of treats. G.H.O.S.T. stands for “Greater Halloween Options for Safe Trick-or-Treating,” and is sponsored each year by the APSU Student Government Association (SGA).

Sydney Hawkins, President of SGA, shared details of G.H.O.S.T. “We allow student organizations to decorate their tables in a Halloween theme and it allows the community to come out and have a place for safe trick-or-treating,” said Hawkins. Hawkins added that there were around 65 student groups from the university and others from the community who participated in this year’s event by dressing up and passing out candy for the youngsters.
