CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Austin Peay State University hosted a dinner Friday, November 22, at the Memorial Health Building for current and potential members of the APSU Tower Club.

The theme for the event was “Suits and Sneakers,” with attire being business casual with tennis shoes.

Ben Kimbrough Sr., was presented with the 2019 Govs Who Lead Through Service Award from the APSU Board of Trustees.

The Tower Club was chartered in 1958, and it was Austin Peay’s first private support organization. The intention of the charter members was to gather once a year, have a prominent speaker, make an annual gift and seek no public recognition.

The Tower Club is an organization of men and women who have “unselfish hearts and a desire to make Clarksville a better place to live.” The purpose of the club is to improve the standards of higher educational opportunities by assisting Austin Peay.
