CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Imagine an evening filled with fun, excitement, a bit of glamour, and a lot of love. Hundreds of caring people came together Friday in Clarksville to help those with special needs and give them a night no one would ever forget.
It truly was a “Night to Shine”, a worldwide event sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation which took place at Community of Hope Church in Clarksville. Over 500 volunteers shared their hearts and smiles to become buddies for more than 200 very special guests who might otherwise not have the opportunity to have memories of a prom.
Leighanne Guthrie with Community of Hope Church and one of the organizers of the event talked about what the very special night was all about. “Tonight is all about our guests, it’s all about our special needs clientele. We have adults all the way down through 14-year-old kids. We want them to experience a prom from start to finish. It’s just a night of sheer fun,” said Guthrie.
The guests rode in a limousine before stepping onto the red carpet to shouts of support and applause as their name was announced. Inside they enjoyed a meal, music, dancing, karaoke, professional portraits and a goodie bag of gifts.
All Night to Shine guests were also crowned kings and queens before each accepted their goodie bag of gifts before leaving.
