CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Just over 300 people of all ages enjoyed an evening of running and walking at the 5th Annual “Deputy Bubba Johnson Memorial Road Race” Saturday at Beachaven Winery. Along with the 5K race there was a 1-Mile Fun Run.

First, second and third place medals were awarded in various age categories along with overall winners. New this year was a category for all of those friendly four-legged runners. Dogs had a chance to compete for a medal as they ran with their companions.

The event this year was a fundraiser to help the families of Tennessee law enforcement officers who are killed or seriously injured in the line of duty. Deputy Johnson lost his life on January 12 2014 in a vehicle accident while on duty with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
