CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The Clarksville-Montgomery County Branch, #5582 of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) hosted their 62nd Annual Freedom Fund Banquet Friday. Close to 175 people attended the event held at the Austin Peay State University Morgan University Center Ballroom.
The theme of the evening was “Keepers of the Dream” “Steadfast and Immovable.”
Guest speaker for the banquet was the Honorable Brenda Gilmore, Tennessee State Representative for District 54. Among the many highlights of the evening was honoring the memory of Pastor Jimmy Terry Sr. who passed away in June of this year. Terry’s wife Servella was presented with the Jerry G. Jerkins Community Service Award by Pastor Jerkins and the NAACP.
Attorney Charles W. Bone, Esq, the founder of Bone McAllester Norton PLLC of Nashville was also a recipient of the Community Service Award.
