CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) It was the first full day back to school for Clarksville-Montgomery County Wednesday and West Creek Elementary students were welcomed back by close to 25 soldiers with the 101st Sustainment Brigade, Lifeliners, from Fort Campbell.

The soldiers lined up at the entrance to the school cheering and shared high-fives and fist bumps with the students as they got off the buses. Many other soldiers with the 101 Sustainment Brigade of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) are currently deployed and serving in Afghanistan.

Sgt. 1st Class Estela Saulter with the brigade talked about why the soldiers were at West Creek Elementary cheering on the students.

“We are making it a memorable lifetime thing for them so they’ll remember this day forever. Some of them are probably going to join the military in the future so we’re trying to really pump them up on their first full day of school,” Saulter said.
