CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) has issued an alert about a warrant scam that has resurfaced.
According to the MCSO Facebook page the suspect identifies himself as Sergeant Phil Snider or other law enforcement officers with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. In many cases, the caller identifies the victim by name and tells them there is a warrant on file for their arrest.
Victims may be directed to obtain a money order or Green Dot card and send it to the suspect or face arrest.
Sheriff John Fuson reminds residents, “We do not call citizens to let them know we have a warrant on file and we never solicit fines or fees over the phone.”
