CLARKSVILLE, TN – The movie Wicked: For Good hits theatres at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20 to a nationwide, energetic fan base. To meet demand and celebrate the opening, Phoenix Theatres Governor’s Square will keep the doors open all night long, showing the film for 33 hours non-stop, according to a news release.
“For the first time in the history of Phoenix Theatres Governor’s Square, due to the national groundswell of demand for this film and the excitement it’s generated, we have decided to start at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20 and will keep it playing – non-stop – straight through the night, early morning hours and on into the normal rotation of show times on Friday for over 33 hours of non-stop Wicked action,” said Phoenix Theatres President Cory Jacobson in the release. “It was actually the employees who came to us, so enthusiastic about this film that they wanted to run all night with it.”
“There are a lot of behind the scenes preparation going on,” said Jordan Hohman, vice president of Project Development. “It is a big event film that we are trying our very best to present in the way Jon Chu (the film’s director) would want it presented, at the highest quality level, so we’re running around double checking projectors, sound systems and all the other equipment to make sure everything is up to the highest specifications.”
Tickets may be purchased in advance at Phoenix Theatres Governor’s Square’s box office or online at Phoenixmovies.net.
