CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Animal rights organization PETA is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the death of a dog found frozen earlier this week.
According to Director Jeanette Farrell, Animal Control received the call from the Sheriff’s Office about a deceased frozen dog at Grandma’s Apron Restaurant on Salem Rd. on Sunday, Jan. 8.
Upon arrival, the Animal Control Officer found a tan/gray and white pitbull type dog in the front parking lot that had been abandoned.
The dog’s body was frozen to the bottom half of a doghouse and was covered with a blue blanket with “Little Puppies” embroidered on it. The dog appeared to have died at that location.

Authorities are investigating the incident but have yet to make any arrests. That’s why PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to abuse in any way”—is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this crime.
“This dog was left to suffer and die in the bitter cold outside an empty building,” says PETA Vice President Colleen O’Brien. “PETA urges anyone with information about this case to come forward immediately—before anyone else gets hurt.”
Anyone with information about this case is encouraged to call Montgomery County Animal Control at 931-648-5750.
