HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – Pennyrile Electric’s President/CEO, Eston Glover, Jr., has announced his intention to retire in January 2015. Glover’s announcement was made at the May board meeting of the cooperative in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
“It has been an honor and privilege to serve this cooperative for the past 27 years,” Glover said. “Our cooperative has a tradition of leading the way for our community and our industry. I can think of no group of people who represent that tradition more than those individuals who make up Pennyrile Electric. I am proud to have had the opportunity to serve on their behalf.”
Glover served as Manager of Member Services from 1987 until he was appointed President/CEO in June 2000. Glover also served on the cooperative’s board of directors for six years, prior to becoming a full time employee. He has been active in community activities and has served on numerous boards such as: Tennessee Valley Public Power Association, National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council, Home Builders Association of Hopkinsville, Pennyrile Emmaus Community, Kiwanis, Petrie Memorial Methodist Church, along with many other professional and community organizations. One advancement most recently made under Glover’s guidance, as Board Chairman of the South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council, is the three county partnership with Todd, Christian and Trigg Counties.
During Glover’s term as President/CEO, he has implemented some of the most significant changes in the cooperative’s 77 year history. Under his guidance, Pennyrile Electric has deployed a fully functional Automated Metering Infrastructure, which allows the cooperative to remotely communicate with each meter on the system. Pennyrile Electric also is equipped with state of the art equipment and facilities that allow employees to work safely and efficiently. Most recently, the cooperative has introduced an Outage Management System, which aides in the restoration process and helps to communicate outage information with members.
